::insert something profound or witty here::

Hello family!

So as I am sitting down to write this email, I can't remember what happened this week! I swear we worked hard, and I promise we saw miracles, but my mind has blanked....uhh.... okay! we're back!

It's nice to be settling into Mayfield. I feel especially more settled now that I have gone to church in the ward here, even though it's already been almost 2 weeks here in the area. Our investigators are progressing pretty well, but this week we are really trying to find new people to teach. It's going to require a lot of effort and a lot of faith, but we really need to mix up the teaching pool. It'll require some miracles, but it happens! For instance, yesterday. Yesterday morning during studies I was studying faith related to miracles and I read in Ether 7 and the Bible Dictionary, specifically. In the BD it said that miracles do not produce faith, but that often miracles come after and confirm our faith. Right after studying that, we saw so many miracles throughout the day, it was amazing. We ended up teaching 6 lessons, getting a referral from a member in our ward who's friend really wants to meet with missionaries, and we found 2 new investigators....all on top of 3 hours of church and an hour and a half at the ward's linger longer/break the fast! We really needed that this week, and Sister Mayer and I were so grateful and so happy as we were driving home from an appointment last night (where we talked about Alma 32 and when we read verse 21, the investigator marked it and said "I want to make that my facebook status!!" haha). But as we were driving home, even though it was almost time to be in, I
really felt like we needed to stop by one more less active woman. I've come to find on my mission that you cannot EVER procrastinate those promptings from the spirit, so I did a semi-illegal U-turn (oopsies.... :) and drove to Sis. McCornell's house. When we got there, our timing could not have been more perfect. She was there and so was her sister, Tasha. We were able to share a lesson with them and Tasha was really interested in everything we were saying! She kept commenting on how it made sense that we had a prophet and apostles on the earth today, because they were in the Bible too and God is the same yesterday today and forever. With Tasha wanting to learn more and wanting to come to church this Sunday, Sister McCornell kept saying, "wait, I need to get to church too! Do you want to do this together?" It was amazing to see the Spirit work on them! I'm so glad I got to see this miracle happen!

I'm seriously racking my brain for something else to tell y'all. (Besides the fact that my pseudo-southern accent is coming back because Sister Mayer is from Houston. I'm getting this weird Southern/missionary/EBONICS accent from serving here hahaha. You'll get to hear it in a few weeks I suppose) Oh! Dad and Eric will appreciate this! We are really close with our ward mission leader's family, the Messegee's. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT trunky at all, but I can't wait for you to meet them when you come to pick me up! Brother Messegee is a moutaineer (and a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon, NO JOKE hahaha) and he has hiked Mt. Rainer
38 times in one month! It's a part of his conversion story, and it is amazing! They have the most amazing stories. But I thought Eric and Dad would really appreciate that one :)

Have a great week! I love you!

Sister Maughan
