Hello Family!
I hope that you all enjoyed conference weekend! I thought it was great to listen! Mom, I'm sorry you are sick and didn't get to appreciate all of it, but if it makes you feel any better I missed over 2 hours of conference too. On Saturday, we were scheduled to be at sites and we ended up taking TWO tours! One during each of the sessions! They were both families who were members of the church so that was a bit annoying, but it's okay. I hope you all keyed in to when President Monson talked about Kirtland in his Sunday morning talk! That was fun to hear. I really loved getting to listen to conference, it was so powerful and it was neat to hear all of the themes that came out during the talks. I couldn't even pick a favorite talk because of the ones that I heard, I loved them all!
Well, I guess it's time for yet another transfer run down: I have literally been transferred across the street to an area called Mayfield. I mean it when I mean I've been transferred across the street. South Euclid and Mayfield share a lot of the same cities, only now I'm in the other half. For instance, I am constantly in Cleveland Heights still, haha. I even serve in the city of South Euclid too. That confuses people, when they ask where I was transferred from and I say South Euclid. haha. It's a bit strange to still be serving in practically the same environment, but it just makes me think that South Euclid was a transitory area for me, preparing me for Mayfield. I'm excited to see what Mayfield holds! Speaking of which, I've decided that Cleveland is way more diverse than I thought. I started my mission serving in Amish Country, then in the ghetto, and now that I'm in Mayfield, I get the ghetto AND a community of Orthodox and Hisidic Jews! Man, I love my life. haha.
In the "small world" department of this letter, I actually took Sister Webb's place in Mayfield! This is her greenie area, and she's finally leaving after 9 months. And in the ironies of ironies, she has been transferred to Ravenna and gets to be there when TABI GETS BAPTIZED THIS WEEK!!! I'm only a tad bit jealous haha. It's really funny that I have taken her spot here though, everyone is even more surprised when I tell them that Sister Webb and I were really close friends before the mission. My companion is Sister Stephanie Mayer ("like the author, only with an 'a'"). She has been out for 3 months and was trained by Sis. Webb. So since Sis. Webb is her "mom" and she and I are so close, Sister Mayer keeps telling everyone that now her companion is her godmother! haha. That's right, I'm a godmother. who knew?! Sis. Mayer is super sweet, and actually reminds me a porcelin doll, haha. I'm excited to be her companion. It's going to be a good transfer! I can feel it...
Well, I guess I don't really have much else to share, so I'll upload some pictures and send this on it's way!
Love you all so much!
Sister Maughan
