Hello family!
It sounds like everything is going pretty well at home. Scott, you are cooking?! Dangggg. Impressive! You are going to be cooking! That's sweet, man. haha. Good prep for a mission :)
Well, I don't have a lot of exciting things to tell you. It was somewhat of a frustrating week in the area. Mom, you asked if I felt like we have enough time in our area to proselyte, and to be honest I really don't feel like it. Obviously we try to make the most that we can of the time we have, but sometimes it doesn't really work out. We really only have Thursday and Friday in our area. Both of those days we had 7-8 appointments scheduled. and BOTH of those days, all of our appointments cancelled. On Friday, we even had 4 appointments with members coming with us to lessons and in each of those lessons, the member and/or the investigators would cancel. It's a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, that's kind of the life as a missionary, especially in Cleveland. I'm getting used to it so it doesn't affect me as much, but this has been really difficult for my sweet and tender companion. She loves everyone SOOO much and gets so attached that it breaks her heart when they don't progress, which is life in Cleveland. But she'll be okay. I think she is starting to recognize that this is just helping to build her for the rest of her mission, which it really will.
In good news though, yesterday our investigator Nick came to church yesterday! I've talked about him probably 2 weeks ago. He is still SO sincere. He continues to pray everyday and now he has said that he is going to try and pray out loud. He is so willing to keep commitments, even though he is always ridiculously busy. He works from 8 am to 10 or 10:30 pm everyday. His fellowshippers just moved to Hiram,Ohio so they are no longer in our ward, but I am AMAZED that he still is willing to come to church. He is just searching so much. We still have to move slowly, but he is definitely progressing, and that puts a huge smile on my face :)
Well, I'm not sure what else to tell you. But if I think of anything else excited to tell you, I can tell you "in person" on Sunday via Skype! :) I love you all so much!
